Connect over USB

Use a data-capable USB cable and choose the device once. For ESP32 DevKit V1, see the bootloader steps below if automatic sync fails.

A Chromium based desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave) is required.

Most boards enter download mode automatically. If sync fails, follow the board-specific BOOT/RESET sequence.

Install firmware

By default the complete flash is erased, which removes every setting of a previous installation. Keep the USB cable connected while Pixelix restarts.

Keeps the device settings stored in NVS: WiFi credentials, hostname, web login, brightness, timezone and so on. Slot configuration, MQTT, sensor calibration, timers and plugin configuration are reset in any case, because the filesystem image is always written.

Set up Wi-Fi

Choose the USB device first. After firmware restart, this page reopens the same serial port; keep the cable connected. Some boards may ask you to select the device again.
